Xaymaca promises to honour all purchases for Carnival 2020
Xaymaca International has a message for the Xaymacans.
Following news of the postponement of the 2020 Carnival festivities.
A number of stakeholders have come forth to state their stance and inform the general public of the next course of action.
Carnival in Jamaica has been postponed to late October and with that, Xaymaca International released a statement to update the loyal Xaymacans.
The release reads:
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a cause for concern globally and has been impacting entertainment activities worldwide.
On Tuesday, March 10, the Jamaican Government announced the first confirmed case with additional cases being identified subsequently.
The Xaymaca board of directors met on March 11 to discuss the new developments and explored possible contingencies that would ensure the safety of our masqueraders and the best possible road experience.
On Friday, March 13, the Jamaican Government issued an advisory to officially postpone the Carnival in Jamaica season to October 2020.
Xaymaca International will honour all purchases of costumes and tickets to our events for the new carnival season in October of this year.
The official Road March Day is confirmed for Sunday, October 25, followed by the Xaymaca Beach Fete on October 26.
With the lead time given to effectively strategise, we will be ensuring that the proper precautionary measures are taken for you to enjoy the Jamaican Carnival experience with minimal health risks.
