International Samaritan Jamaica recently handed over tablets and laptops to 75 Step by Step Scholarship students, at Riverton Meadows Baptist Church.

The group works with people living in and around garbage dump communities, like Riverton City, to help them break out of poverty.

After a competitive application process in July 2019 and 189 interviews, the students were selected as Step-by-Step Scholars.

The scholarship covers tuition, uniforms, books, lunch fees, transportation, grocery, extra-curricular activities and in some cases medical fees.

The team will also supervise community children three days per week at the locations so they can access online learning.
