Psychological evaluation for suspect held after cabbie hacked to death

A psychological evaluation is to be undertaken of a suspect who has been taken into custody by the Westmoreland police on suspicion of having hacked a taxi operator to death in the parish, including severing both legs of the victim.

The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Aldon Fearing of a Seaford Town, Westmoreland address.

The suspect is believed to be of unsound mind.

Reports are that about 7.30 pm on Thursday, April 14, Fearing was heard screaming at his home.

The police were summoned and the body of the taxi operator was later discovered in bushes near his home. The body had multiple chop wounds and both legs were cut off.

The deceased was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Bethel Town police are investigating the gruesome incident.
