This section of Cross Roads in the Corporate Area was empty by 3.30pm, just half an hour into the curfew on Good Friday.

The nation's streets were empty by 3pm on Good Friday as the government's Easter holiday curfew took effect, the latest restriction imposed by the Andrew Holness administration to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Jamaica.

The 3pm to 7am curfew will be in effect daily from Good Friday to Easter Monday.

Based on an assessment by the Loop News team on Friday afternoon, residents of the Corporate Area have generally been compliant so far, with Kingston and St Andrew being transformed into a virtual ghost town during broad daylight.
