Peking Cruz the one to beat in non-restricted overnight allowance race

Course specialists,  PEKING CRUZ, RAS EMANUEL, and TRULY AMAZING, clash in Saturday’s  sixth event at Caymanas Park, a five-furlong straight, non-restricted overnight allowance event, for three-year-olds and upwards.

RAS EMANUEL, and TRULY AMAZING are well drawn at stalls nine and 11, respectively, but are allowing PEKING CRUZ weight. PEKING CRUZ breaks from post-position six, carrying 110lb with claiming apprentice Nicholas Hibbert.

Trainer Richard Azan has also fitted PEKING CRUZ with first-time blinkers after the five-year-old’s encouraging effort with topweight 126lb behind SIR ALTON’s fast-time win at six furlongs two Saturdays ago.

Title-chasing jockey Dane Nelson is astride TRULY AMAZING and six-time champion, Omar Walker, aboard RAS EMANUEL. Anthony Thomas, who leads Nelson by 15 winners in the jockeys’ title race, breaks from stall one with ROJORN DI PILOT.

ROJORN DI PILOT also enjoys five furlongs straight but has the track bias against him and was behind  second-place PEKING CRUZ at the trip when both were beaten by UNIVERSAL BOSS on July 18.

RAS EMANUEL ran a big race for second behind GOD OF LOVE last time out on the round course but he is a stalking sprinter with 123lb, allowing speedy PEKING CRUZ 13lb.

First post for the 10-race card is 11:30 am.
