Medical Disposables led gains during Tuesday’s trading

Medical Disposables and Supplies led double-digit gains during Tuesday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).

The stock gained 15.02 per cent to close at $4.67, it was followed by Margaritaville Turks up 14.99 per cent to $56.23.

The day’s biggest loser was 138 Student Living down 28 per cent to close at $3.51.

The JSE Combined Index advanced by 4,515.84 points (1.20 per cent) to close at 380,454.55.

The JSE Index advanced by 4,655.78 points (1.23 per cent) to close at 383,551.04. The Junior Market Index advanced by 21.49 points (0.85 per cent) to close at 2,561.47.

Meanwhile, the JSE USD Equities Index declined by 0.06 points (0.03 per cent) to close at 193.29. The JSE Financial Index advanced by 1.59 points (1.61 per cent) to close at 100.62. The JSE Manufacturing & Distribution Index advanced by 0.13 points (0.17 per cent) to close at 77.82.

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 74 stocks of which 42 advanced, 21 declined and 11 traded firm.

Market volume amounted to 18.5 million units valued at over $202.1 million.

Wigton Windfarm was the volume leader with 5.8 million units (31.75 per cent) followed by Carreras with 1,833,480 units (9.9 per cent) and TransJamaican Highway with 1,732,899 units (9.38 per cent).
