Mayberry Jamaica Equities, Pulse led gains during Friday’s trading
Mayberry Jamaica Equities (MJE) and Pulse Investments led Friday gains in an oversized, flat market.
MJE gained 8.66 per cent to close at $9.79 but with thin volumes of only 427 units. It was followed by Pulse up 6.5 per cent to close at $2.96 with over 3.5 million units trading hands.
Elite Diagnostics was the big loser down 10 per cent to close at $4.00.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 511.01 points (0.14 per cent) to close at 377,576.68 and the JSE Index advanced by 912.88 points (0.24 per cent) to close at 380,156.43.
Meanwhile, the Junior Market Index declined by 30.72 points (1.17 per cent) to close at 2,584.29.
The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 4.21 points (2.29 per cent) to close at 187.84.
The JSE Financial Index closed at 98.38. The JSE Manufacturing & Distribution Index advanced by 0.37 points (0.47 per cent) to close at 78.32.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 73 stocks of which 29 advanced, 31 declined and 13 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 33.3 million units valued at over $111.2 million. Transjamaican Highway was the volume leader with 16.1 million units (48.40per cent) followed by Wigton Windfarm with 4.3 million units (13 per cent) and Pulse Investments with 3.5 million units (10.6 per cent).
