Night five of the Jamaica Food and Drink Festival promised a fried, sealed, delivered culinary journey, and boy did the organisers deliver at the Festival Marketplace, next to the Craft Market downtown.

If you can get deep-fried cheesecake with a sorrel coulis, Crispy Cracker-crusted shrimp and chicken tenders, or the new Red Stripe Watermelon beer in the same place, it's heaven Crisp!

The fried fare and beer event was the perfect median for the two-week-long line-up of events – a welcomed chill before the intensity of the weekend takes shape.

Loop Lens: Crisp

A live performance by reggae recording artiste Lila Ike didn’t hurt either.

Unfortunately, there won’t be any deep-fried Snickers bars this evening at Picante. But, word on the street is that Asian flavours and spices infused, Picante is sure to exceed expectations.
