LIAT is reminding customers awaiting refunds that it is still "under Administration" but work continues to see services resume.
On Instagram on Friday, the airline posted:
"Today we celebrate 64 years of serving the Caribbean. The last few months have been very turbulent for us and with the state of aviation, the LIAT family have been through a lot.
"We thank our employees, past and present that have shaped the legacy of our LIAT."
LIAT has not been in the skies or on the tarmac since the advent of COVID-19 but it's still celebrating 64 years and talking about its possible return.
"As we reflect in serving the Caribbean for the last 64 years, we thank you, our customers, for being there with us through the good and rough times.
"We are working behind the scenes to return to the Caribbean skies to bring back that familiar feeling that says 'Love Is Always There'.
In addition to the clever twist of LIAT as an acronym, on this celebratory occasion, LIAT also shared some nostalgic throwback photos.
Asked on social media when it is returning to the skies, the airline responded: "We do not have a restart date at the moment."
Replying to queries about refunds for cancelled flights since it ceased commercial flights back in March/April 2020, LIAT said:
"As we are under Administration, the issue of refunds is handled by the Administrator's office."
LIAT (1974) Limited has been under Administration since July 24. Cleveland Seaforth of BDO has been appointed Administrator.
