The Jamaican dollar declined in value during trading on Wednesday, according to data from the Bank of Jamaica.
The local currency depreciated by $0.44 against the United States dollar during trading to close at $144.49 from $144.05 on the previous trading day. It was the first day of depreciation since October 1, when the local currency closed trading at $143.54.
In the meantime, also on Wednesday, the British Pound Sterling closed at $188.59 from $187.72, while the Canadian dollar closed at $109.34 from $110.89.
