Fourth bike fatality in Hanover within a week

A man died as a result of injuries he suffered during a motor collision involving a motorcycle in the parish of Hanover on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Heckburn Stennett of Station Road, Hanover.

His death pushes the tally of persons killed on the roads in Hanover as a result of motorcycle collisions to four within a week.

Reports are that about 6:10 p.m., Stennett was driving a Jamco motorcycle along the Kingsvale main road in the parish, when the cycle collided with an Isuzu motor truck.

Stennett sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Friday's fatal motor vehicle crash came a week after three men died from following a head-on collision involving two motorcycles in Hanover.

The three, Dayne Wetherburn; his pillion rider, Reggie Perkins; and Troy Myrie, died when two motorcycles collided along the Green Island roadway.
