Four stocks record double-digit gains on Monday
Four stocks gained above 10 per cent on Monday despite the overall market declining to start the final week in June.
Sygnus Credit gained 13.5 per cent to US$0.15, followed by Palace Amusement up 13 per cent to $1,848, Elite Diagnostics up 12.3 per cent to $4.49, and JMMB Preference shares up 12 per cent to $1.68.
The day’s big loser was Express Catering down 12 per cent to $4.36.
The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Combined Index declined by 4,011.09 points (1.06 per cent) to close at 373,565.59.
The JSE Index declined by 4,167.69 points (1.10 per cent) to close at 375,988.74. The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 4,523.57 points (1.09 per cent) to close at 412,244.06. The JSE Select Index declined by 136.35 points (1.44 per cent) to close at 9,302.37.
Also on the day, the JSE Cross Listed Index declined by 3.00 points (3.14 per cent) to close at 92.44. The Junior Market Index declined by 16.35 points (0.63 per cent) to close at 2,567.94. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 1.28 points (0.68 per cent) to close at 189.12.
The JSE Financial Index declined by 0.97 points (0.99 per cent) to close at 97.41. The JSE Manufacturing & Distribution Index declined by 0.85 points (1.09 per cent) to close at 77.47.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 81 stocks of which 37 advanced, 36 declined and 8 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 25,303,749 units valued at over $95,279,001.22. Lumber Depot was the volume leader with 10,120,000 units (39.99per cent) followed by Pulse Investment with 3,268,787 units (12.92per cent) and Transjamaican Highway with 2,505,749 units (9.90per cent).
