Formal Fashion looks the right choice in hot sprint on Sunday

A hot sprint is expected at Caymanas Park  in Sunday’s seventh race at five and a half furlongs, a non-winners-of-four event pitting DEEP BLUE SEA, a winner of three of his last four starts, against FORMAL FASHION.

Last raced on August 30, DEEP BLUE SEA beat a slow field of non-winners-of-three, using his speed to make all at six and a half furlongs, completing a third win from six starts, graduating to non-winners-of-four.

However, FORMAL FASHION’s August 6 run was against a far better line-up, losing in a three-way photo to super-fit ENUFFISENUFF at five and a half furlongs after chasing TRULY AMAZING off the lead, a race completed in 1:05.3.

FORMAL FASHION has also beaten the likes of BALTUSROL and DUKE, clocking 1:06.0 for five and a half furlongs. In addition, she has chased hot steppers such as SHE’S A HIT, ENGLAND’S ROSE, MAHOGANY and FATHER PATRICK in fast splits.

DEEP BLUE SEA, the mount of apprentice Raddesh Roman, continues to blaze the exercise track, 1:06.2 for five and a half furlongs last week Sunday. However, she faces matching speed and will have to run her best race ever to topple FORMAL FASHION with Robert Halledeen.

First post for the eight-race card is 12:30 pm.
