Eppley records strong gains during Thursday's trading

Eppley Limited led gains during Thursday’s trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) by double digit levels.

Eppley gained 23 per cent to close at $16.98 on the day which recovered from March lows of $10. The stock is getting closer to year to date highs of $18.00.

The JSE Combined Index declined by 365.53 points (0.10 per cent) to close at 376,765.68 while the JSE Index declined by 457.79 points (0.12 per cent) to close at 379,953.77.

The Junior Market Index advanced by 5.21 points (0.21 per cent) to close at 2,526.01 and the JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 0.43 points (0.23 per cent) to close at 191.01.

Also on Thursday, the JSE Financial Index declined by 0.99 points (0.98 per cent) to close at 99.73.

The JSE Manufacturing & Distribution Index declined by 0.20 points (0.26 per cent) to close at 76.18.

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 72 stocks of which 32 advanced, 28 declined and 12 traded firm.

Market volume amounted to 14.25 million units valued at over $127 million. Wigton Windfarm was the volume leader with 2.37 million units (16.62 per cent) followed by Transjamaican Highway Limited with 2.0 million units (14.39 per cent) and Sagicor Select Financial with 1.97 million units (13.85 per cent) .
