Environmentalist joins GraceKennedy as corporate communications head

Suzanne Stanely, the former CEO of Jamaica Environment Trust (JET), is the new head of corporate communications at GraceKennedy (GK).

According to a release by GK, Stanley will be responsible for leading communication activities and public relations programmes across the group, which includes liaising with the media.

Stanley has professional experience in writing for the media and developing and applying technological solutions to environmental problems, the GraceKennedy release said.

GraceKennedy said Stanley brings an in-depth knowledge of Jamaica’s civil society sector to the conglomerate. 

In her new role, Stanely will also provide additional support to GraceKennedy’s corporate social responsibility programme and the GK Foundation.

She will report directly to GK’s general counsel and chief corporate secretary Gail Moss-Solomon.

Stanley holds a Master’s of Science degree from the prestigious University of Oxford in Environment Change and Management.

She spent over 10 years at JET, where she assumed the role of CEO between 2018 and 2020. As CEO, Stanley was responsible for strategic planning and oversight and development of JET, including communications, event planning and execution of public and media relations.

She was also instrumental in the creative direction of several environmental campaigns by JET.
