Despite the wonderful news for many that the economy is slowly “re-opening” as some would say, few organisers have opted to keep their event postponed.

The Calabash International Literary Festival, the three-day literary festival held at Jakes Treasure Beach in St Elizabeth, is one such event that is shelved until 2021.

The 2020 iteration of the biennial culture fest was first postponed from May of this year to September 11-13.

But, a statement from the Calabash team that was shared on Instagram, revealed that new dates have been released for Calabash 2021.

It read: “With so much that still remains uncertain at this time we’ve decided that later will be greater for our Calabash family and the Treasure Beach community.”

“So the next Calabash will be held May 28-30, 2021 and we will celebrate our 20th anniversary with you all then!”

Efforts to contact the marketing team for comment proved futile.

Updates to follow as they become available.
