As it moves further to becoming the digital lifestyle partner to its customers, Digicel has reached another milestone with the announcement of dancehall icon, Bounty Killer, as its newest brand ambassador.
On the strength of his much-celebrated career that spans several decades, Bounty will provide Digicel customers with unique experiences that empower and excite their digital lives, the company said in a press release.
The multimedia partnership comes after Bounty’s impromptu public endorsement of Digicel’s service during his viral Verzuz performance in May, followed by a joint philanthropic effort with the Digicel Foundation in June, to feed vulnerable persons in Majesty Gardens who were impacted by COVID-19.
In welcoming Bounty to its star-studded lineup of ambassadors, Nasha-Monique Douglas, Chief Marketing Officer for Digicel Jamaica, noted that Bounty will be also playing a pivotal role in Digicel’s future community outreach and philanthropic efforts.
“After decades at the top of his game, Bounty has become not only a dancehall legend but also a cultural icon in Jamaica. His personal story is the epitome of self-empowerment, growth, and unwavering dedication to Jamaica, and it is exactly these traits that make him the perfect brand ambassador for Digicel,” she said, adding “We are excited about the tremendous and positive impact that will come from this collaboration between Bounty and Digicel.”
The ace deejay was just as exuberant about the partnership.
He remarked, “I’m so proud to be part of promoting the Digicel brand, and I want to encourage and inspire all of my fans to do the same,” Bounty urged. “When I say that ‘Digicel a fi mi cell’, I’m letting the world know that this is a brand that caters to all the people and powers their digital lifestyle.”
In addition to their joint charitable works, Bounty Killer and Digicel have a long history of collaborating on entertainment-related efforts. In April, Bounty broke records when he lit up the Digicel Unplugged stage for an unforgettable live-streamed performance.
Bounty now joins the lineup of Digicel brand ambassadors, including the world’s fastest man and Digicel Chief Speed Officer, Usain Bolt, world-leading sprinter, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Special Olympics champion, Alphanso Cunningham.
