Dexter "Blaxx" Stewart is aid to be undergoing tests at a private medical facility.
Veteran soca artiste Blaxx is in a Trinidad & Tobago hospital.
Fellow artiste Fay Ann Lyons-Alvarez, a close friend of De All Stars front man, confirmed to Loop News that Blaxx was rushed to a hospital in St Joseph after he experienced difficulty breathing.
Lyons-Alvarez and husband Ian “Bunji Garlin” Alvarez are currently with Blaxx and his two sons at the facility.
Lyons-Alvarez revealed that Blaxx, real name Dexter Stewart, is undergoing tests because of fluid in his lungs. She said they are checking for any complications following a recent surgery he had when he was hospitalised over a week ago.
Lyons-Alvarez said she called an ambulance to take Blaxx to the hospital the previous time. She said when she called to check up on him Tuesday, she did not like how he was sounding so he was taken to the private facility for examination.
On Sunday, Blaxx asked his fans to pray for him as he recuperated from what he said was a kidney infection.
An appeal was put out by Dawg E Slaughter to raise funds to assist the singer with his medical expenses.
