Allison Philbert steps down as CEO of Digicel Jamaica
Allison Philbert, CEO of Digicel Jamaica, has decided to step down from the role effective at the end of the year, it was announced Wednesday.
Philbert joined Digicel Jamaica in February 2019 to lead the Digital team as it worked towards its transformation into a Digital Operator and was appointed CEO of Digicel Jamaica in August 2019.
She quickly made her mark building and leading the team with great enthusiasm, energy and passion through a pivotal period in the company’s history, which culminated last week in the successful worldwide relaunch of the company as it reintroduced itself as a Digital Operator and simultaneously unveiled its new 'Better together' brand and promise to customers of simply more.
Commenting on Philbert's decision to step down, Digicel Group CEO Caribbean and Central America, Oliver Coughlan, said: “In parallel with our company-wide rebirth as a Digital Operator last week came the achievement of a significant, personal goal for one of our dear colleagues, Allison Philbert. So while I am absolutely delighted for Allison on attaining her goal, I understand her desire to seek opportunities outside the Digicel family. I would like to thank her most sincerely for her considerable contribution and I would like to wish her the very best for the future.”
Philbert commented: “I am very proud of what the team has achieved. After 18 months of painstaking planning, last week, we reintroduced ourselves to the world as a Digital Operator bringing 1440 minutes of powerful digital experiences to our customers through our suite of eight apps and our all-new Digicel Prime Bundles. It’s been a privilege for me to lead the talented Digicel Jamaica team through such an exciting time and I am looking forward to embracing my next challenge.”
Digicel will announce a new CEO for Digicel Jamaica in due course.
