The Hanover police are now banking on the results of DNA testing to determine if three bodies retrieved from a sinkhole in the parish on Wednesday are those of men who were ambushed by gunmen in Green Island in the parish last month.

The three bodies were removed from a 40-foot-deep sinkhole in the March Town section of the parish during a seven-hour operation that was carried out by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and the Jamaica Fire Brigade, which ended at about 6 pm.

Family members have no doubt that the bodies are those of Juvane Anderson, Chescott  Douglas and Sean Russell, the trio of Hanover men who went missing after they and another man were pounced upon and peppered with gunshots by unknown gunmen.

The fourth member of the group was shot and injured in the attack, but managed to escape alive.

It is reported that on April 22, the four men went to Green Island to buy motorcycles, and came under heavy gunfire.

Despite desperate searches since then, the three men have been missing since.
