A PNP supporter chants outside Parliament on Tuesday.
In anticipation of an imminent announcement of the date for the next general elections, People's National Party (PNP) supporters gathered outside Parliament on Tuesday, urging Prime Minister Andrew Holness to call the polls and declaring that the party was ready to take back Jamaica House.
"Call it Andrew! Call it! Wi ready," shouted the Comrades in unison. Watch the video below.
After previously suspending sittings for the month of August, the House of Representatives hastily reconvened in Parliament Tuesday.
The main agenda item is expected to be the ending of the states of emergency (SOE) that are now in place in several parishes and police divisions across the country.
The move is expected to pave the way for Prime Minister Andrew Holness to announce the date of the next general elections.
