Scotiabank temporarily closes Ironshore branch
Scotiabank has closed its Ironshore branch in Montego Bay. The decision was taken after receiving reports that two staff members are being reviewed for COVID -19.
"Out of an abundance of caution, we are closing our Ironshore branch for deep cleaning and sanitisation to safeguard against the potential threat of COVID-19,” said Audrey Tugwell Henry, Executive Vice President of Retail Banking. “We are committed to taking all possible steps to protect our staff and customers."
The branch will re-open to the public on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
Scotia said customers requiring in-branch services may visit nearby Scotiabank branches at Fairview and Sam Sharp Square or utilize its ABMs, Telephone Banking, online or mobile banking service.
In the meantime, the bank is reminding customers to use its electronic and digital banking channels, which will enable them to conduct most day to day transactions remotely.
Customers may utilise Scotia OnLine or the Scotia Mobile app to conduct the following transactions for free 24 hours per day:
- Check account balances and monitor account activity
- Transfer funds to anyone at any local bank
- Pay bills
- Top up mobile phones
- Business customers with Online Cash Management Services can make wire payments online.
- All customers can also continue to use their Scotia debit or credit cards to make purchases at stores and business places using point of sales machines.
Scotiabank said it regrets any inconvenience this closure may cause and thanks its customers for their understanding as it take the necessary steps to promote health and safety.
