Panamanian Jockey Dick Cardenas reels off another triple
Panamanian jockey Dick Cardenas starred for a second day at Caymanas Park on Saturday, driving home another three-timer after similarly stealing the show on Thursday.
Cardenas, who recently returned from a stint in North America, now has six winners in three meets.
Among Cardenas' three-timer were two winners for champion trainer Anthony Nunes, starting in the second event with BALTUSROL at five furlongs round.
The Panamanian later made all astride 2-1 chance JENSUNEERA STEEL after 3-5 favourite BABY STAR was slowly into stride at five furlongs straight in the eighth event.
Cardenas closed the nine-race card with Nunes' 3-1 chance, GLOCK, who ran through a furlong and a half out for a strong victory at five furlongs round after finishing fourth in the recent 1000 Guineas.
Meanwhile, six-time former champion, Omar Walker continues to battle Anthony Thomas for second in the riders' standings being led by Dane Nelson on 31 wins.
Walker produced PURPLE WAYNE with a storming stretch run to collar DEEP BLUE SEA at seven and a half furlongs in the third event.
Thomas won the fifth aboard 5-2 chance WHATEVER, moving to 23 wins, one behind Walker, closing in the stretch run at seven furlongs to beat TRICKSTER.
Racing continues at the weekend with back-to-back meets, Saturday and Sunday.
