Wards at the St Ann Infirmary in St Ann’s Bay had something to smile about and, in fact, slept a bit more comfortably this Christmas courtesy of a gift of 10 beds to the institution from Noranda Bauxite Company.

Matron Ity Vickers accepted the beds on behalf of the infirmary earlier this month, during the infirmary’s Christmas dinner which was sponsored by Noranda. The beds were presented complete with mattresses, pillows and linen.

Noranda Bauxite’s Vice President and General Manager, Delroy Dell, said the company was thankful for the opportunity to partner with the St Ann Municipal Corporation in offering forms of relief and assistance to the Infirmary. He congratulated the staff on the excellent care provided, and extended season’s greetings on behalf of Noranda employees.

For his part, the Mayor of St Ann’s Bay, Michael Belnavis, described the contribution as a “fine example of corporate social responsibility”. He thanked the company for its support to the institution over many years.
