National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB) says it is furthering its efforts to enable Jamaicans to bank safely from home with the launch of an online solution that allows new customers to open a regular savings account without visiting a branch.

Customers interested in opening a regular savings account may visit www.jncb.com and click on “Open Account”.

Customers who sign up for online banking will have minimum balance and NCB ABM fees waived, NCB said in a press release.

They will also have immediate access to a Quisk account, which allows them to transfer funds, make deposits and withdrawals at NCB ABMs, and pay bills using their mobile phone. Customers will need to visit the branch to collect their Visa Debit cards, but may do so at their convenience as they will have full access to all the benefits of the savings account in the interim.

“In light of Jamaica entering the community spread phase of the COVID-19 virus, we have a responsibility to provide digital access to as many of our services as possible so that our customers will not have to join lines to service their important financial needs,” said Brian Boothe – Senior General Manager Corporate Commercial and Consumer Banking Division.

He added: “We have already enabled many transactions online such as bill payments, credit card payments and transfers. Our customers can also apply for loans, credit cards, investment accounts and IPOs online without visiting a branch. Now new customers can also open a regular savings account without visiting the branch”
