Man killed in St Ann had been on police radar for St Thomas shootings

A man said to be wanted by the St Thomas police for questioning in relation to gun crimes, was shot dead by gunmen in Brown's Town, St Ann on Sunday. 

The deceased has been identified as Kemar Ottey of Stanton Road in Morant Bay, St Thomas.

Preliminary reports are that sometime after 10pm, Ottey was involved in an altercation with men at a house on Liberty Street in Brown's Town when a firearm was used to shoot him. 

The police were alerted and, upon arrival, Ottey was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. 

He was pronounced dead at hospital. 

Investigations into the killing are ongoing. 

Police sources, meanwhile, indicated that Ottey was being sought for questioning in St Thomas in relation to several shooting incidents.
