Man charged for allegedly raping woman at gunpoint in Portland

A man has been charged by police investigators after he allegedly raped a woman at gunpoint in the community of Norwich in Portland last week.

The accused is 30-year-old Davion Bryan, a labourer of Norwich district in the parish.

He was slapped with charges of rape, illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

Reports are that on Friday, July 10, at about 3:00 a.m., a man armed with a firearm held up a woman who was walking along a roadway, and had sexual intercourse with her against her will.

The matter was reported to the police, and following a probe, Bryan was arrested and later charged.

A date for his appearance in court is being finalised by the police.
