Created : 29 September 2020
Jamaicans are being advised to brace for increased rainfall which is expected to begin to affect the island on Tuesday night as a result of a tropical wave located across the central Caribbean.
According to a news release from the Meteorological Service of Jamaica, (Met Service), the tropical wave is forecast to move into the Jamaica area on Wednesday.
"Projections are for cloudy conditions with periods of showers and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, along with gusty winds, to affect sections of most parishes starting late Tuesday night and continuing through to Thursday," the Met service stated.
Fishers and other marine operators are urged to exercise caution, as sea conditions are expected to deteriorate in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms during the period.
The Meteorological Service said it will continue to monitor the situation.
