HUAWEI CONNECT 2020 got underway last Wednesday in Shanghai, the annual event a platform used to target the global ICT industry and where Huawei discloses its major strategies.

The focus of this year's HUAWEI CONNECT was creating new value with synergy across five tech domains. In 2020, as 5G has been rolled out on a large scale worldwide, connectivity, cloud, AI, computing, and industry applications have all come together to create unprecedented opportunities for the ICT sector.

"As more and more governments and enterprises go digital and embrace intelligence; the ICT sector will see incredible potential for growth. We look forward to opening this new chapter together with our partners," said Huawei Rotating Chairman Guo Ping in his keynote address at the event.

Guo went on to share Huawei’s leading practices in aiding to build smart enterprises, cities and campuses. This will be done by integrating ICT technology and offering scenario-specific solutions with the aim of creating value for enterprises and governments. Huawei’s next steps includes working with its partners to introduce ICT technologies to industries, aiding enterprises with their growth in business along with helping governments reach their goal of boosting domestic industry, benefiting their constituents and refining the overall governance.

Huawei believes they will reap several benefits with synergy across these five tech domains, with the most important benefit being the entire sector being presented with opportunities. Huawei has high hopes of expanding the whole pie with its partners, thus from the new value chain, reaping the most benefits.

The mayor of Shenzhen, Chen Rugui, also spoke at the event along with Peng Zhongyang, Board Member of Huawei and President of Huawei Enterprise BG; Chen Jinzu, General Manager of Shenzhen Airport Group; Tang Shaojie, General Manager of Shenzhen Metro Group and Zhang Ping'an, President of Consumer Cloud Service, Huawei Consumer Business Group, all sharing their experience with digital transformation.

Moving forward, Huawei will focus on applying ICT technologies to industries and providing scenario-specific solutions along with its partners to help enterprises grow their businesses and help governments achieve their strategic goals of boosting domestic industry, benefiting their constituents, and improving overall governance.
