Higgler shot dead in Clarendon
Gunmen carried out a gun attack at a shop in Coco Piece, Clarendon on Wednesday night, leaving a higgler dead.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Leron Tracey, alias 'Beba', of Turners district in the parish.
Police reported that sometime after 7.00 pm, Tracey was outside a shop, when he was pounced upon by armed men.
The assailants shot him several times before fleeing the area.
The police were alerted and on their arrival, the wounded higgler was seen lying in a pool of blood.
He was assisted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A motive for the killing is yet to be established, as the police continue to probe the matter.
Clarendon, which has been reeling from many brazen gun attacks since the start of the year, is currently under a state of public emergency.
