God Of Love stops hot favourite Prince Charles over six furlongs
GOD OF LOVE, partnered by soon-to-be crowned champion jockey, apprentice Christopher Mamdeen, on Saturday ironically beat former stablemate, PRINCE CHARLES by a neck in a thrilling finish at six furlongs.
Canada-based Dane Nelson was aboard champion trainer-declared Anthony Nunes' hot favourite, PRINCE CHARLES, who attacked GOD OF LOVE coming off the home turn but was held to the wire.
GOD OF LOVE completed a two-timer on the 11-race card for Mamdeen, who notched his 93rd win of the season astride the 7-2 winner in the ninth after opening the programme with all-the-way winner, STRUCK BY GRACE at five and a half furlongs.
Mamdeen, who started riding September of last year, holds a 13-win lead over six-time champion Omar Walker.
Nunes, celebrating his first trainers' title, scored a 27-1 upset with MAMACITA at five furlongs straight in the seventh.
MAMACITA was the first of back-to-back winners for Aaron Chatrie over the straight course, returning to boot home UNKNOWN SOLDIER.
Racing continues at Caymamas Park with next Thursday's Boxing Day holiday meet, which will feature the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes at a mile.
