Fish vendor shot dead on Heywood Street in downtown Kingston

A well-known fish vendor was shot and killed on Heywood Street in downtown Kingston on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been Identified has 53-year-old Theoadora Edward, otherwise called ‘Linda’.

Reports are that shortly after 10 am, Edwards was at her stall when an armed man approached her and shot her multiple times to the upper body.

The gunman then escaped in a waiting motorcar that was nearby.

The victim died on the spot.

The police are yet to establish a motive for the killing.

Edwards was of a St Catherine address.

She has reportedly been vending on Heywood Street for over 15 years.

The Kingston Central police are investigating the incident.
