Cop shot by soldier after being 'caught in army man's house'

A policeman was reportedly shot and injured by a member of the Jamaica Defence Force in Portmore, St Catherine on Wednesday.

Details are sketchy at this time, but reports are that the JDF corporal caught the police officer in his home, and fired a shot injuring the officer who then fled via the back door, abandoning his service weapon.

The injured cop was rushed to hospital by a passersby. His condition is unknown at this time.

The Independent Commission of Investigations said it has received a report of the incident, but said the matter was not within its remit as the soldier was off duty at the time of the shooting.
