Application deadline for UWI Mona extended

The University of the West Indies (The UWI), Mona has extended the deadline to submit applications for Undergraduate Degree Programmes to April 30, 2020.

“We understand that many communities have been adversely affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, resulting in school closures across the island thus limiting access to online resources and support from school administrators for submission of applications,” the university said in a statement.

It added: “It is our hope that this extension will help to alleviate some of the uncertainty that our prospective students and applicants have been facing in the last couple of weeks”

Since the global coronavirus outbreak emerged, the university has been tracking developments and determining how to best support its community, including applicants to The UWI.

“Above all, we hope that all families affected by the outbreak remain safe and healthy through these challenging times,” The UWI said.

There is no fee for applying to The UWI Mona Campus.

The university will be accepting digital copies of supporting documents (uncertified), to accommodate those who are unable to submit original documents or have their documents certified at this time and will contact all applicants at a later date, to advise of the deadline for submitting supporting documents.
