Alleged housebreaker reportedly surprised inside dwelling

Twenty-one-year-old Martina Thompson, otherwise called ‘Brisco’, a labourer of Leeds district in St Elizabeth, has been arrested and charged with housebreaking.

Reports from the Black River police are that about 11.30 am on the day in question, the now complainant was informed by his neighbour that someone had broken into his house.

Upon arrival at the dwelling, the now complainant noticed that a section of the house was damaged.

An alarm was made and the perpetrator was seen exiting the house through the back door.

He was chased and held by residents, who then called the police.

Following investigations, Thompson was placed on an identification parade, where he was pointed out, and he was subsequently charged.

His court date is to be finalised.
