Alleged gun-toting woman and sister booked for illegal possession

Detectives from the Hunts Bay Police Station have charged two women following the seizure of a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol, along with three rounds of ammunition, that were allegedly found in the house in which the reside on East Avenue in Greenwich Town, St Andrew on Monday, June 29.
The women, 26-year-old Oshinell Taylor and 28-year-old Octavia Taylor, who are sisters, are charged with illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
Octavia has also been slapped with a charge of assault at common law.
Reports are that about 8:45 p.m. on June 29, Octavia allegedly brandished a gun and threatened her child’s father during a dispute between them when he visited her home.
The police were alerted and a search was carried out at the house where both women reside, and the firearm was found.
Both women were arrested and subsequently charged.
Their court dates are being finalised by the police.
