Ziggy Marley, the son of reggae legend Bob Marley, copped the award for his self-titled album, Ziggy Marley, on the Tuff Gong Worldwide label. It's his eighth Grammy win.
Other nominees in the Best Reggae Album category were:Devin Di Dakta and JL for Sly& Robbie Presents…Reggae For Her; J Boog for Rose Petals; Raging Fyah for Everlasting and Rebelution for Falling Into Place.
Ziggy Marley collected his trophy in the pre-televised segment of the annual awards ceremony. He used Instagram afterwards to express his gratitude for the award.
"Give thanks to the Recording Academy for the honour, to my family, and all the artists keeping reggae alive and well. Love," he said.
