Zephyr strikes at 21-1 in Ahwhofah Sprint

ZEPHYR, running at odds of 21-1 with appretice rider Tevin Foster, made all in Saturday's six-furlong Ahwhofah Sprint, holding on by a half-length from fast-finishing 5-2 second-favourite, LOTTERY TICKET.

The Wayne Partment-trained ZEPHYR won in 1:12.3 from LOTTERY TICKET and CAPTUREMYSHIP, who stayed on for third ahead of 1-2 favourite, LEGALITY, with leading rider, apprentice  Christopher Mamdeen, who rode three winners on the 10-race card, including 9-5 chance, GOD OF LOVE, for trainer Philip Feanny.

Mamdeen extended his tally to 45 wins, eight ahead of fellow claiming rider, Reyan Lewis.

Mamdeen had earlier won aboard PURE HEART and REIGNING KING, in the second and fourth races, respectively.

Lewis won the fifth race aboard Ryan Darby's 5-1 shot, JACKO LINKS, moving to 37 wins. Six-time former champion jockey, Omar Walker, also rode one winner, FRESH CASH, at odds of 6-1, in the eighth event, staying third on 22 wins.
