The funeral service for murdered Arnett Garden’s teenager, Yetanya Francis, is being held today (Sunday) at the Half-Way Tree Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

The seating capacity at the church was overwhelmed long before the programme even got started, with Member of Parliament (MP) for South St Andrew, Mark Golding, leading the large turnout that included many persons from Arnett Gardens, where 14-year-old Yetanya died violently.

Also represented at the funeral service are administrative and teaching staff, as well as students, of Kingston Technical High School, which Yetanya attended before she was brutally raped and killed and her body set ablaze on the night of August 23 after she left home for a nearby shop.

The teenager failed to return home, which set off a frantic search for her that ended the next morning when her partially burnt body was found behind a church near to her home.

Further details of the funeral will be provided later.
