WOW WOW ran down tearaway leader MAHOGANY, with jockey Dane Dawkins, to win Sunday's 2000 Guineas by three lengths at Caymanas Park.

Ridden by jockey Robert Halledeen, the 1-2 favourite caught up with 9-5 shot MAHOGANY a furlong and a half out to extend his winning streak to 11 consecutive victories, clocking 1:37.3 for a mile. DOUBLE CROWN with jockey Omar Walker finished third at odds of 6-1.

WOW WOW handed trainer Gary Subratie his second 2000 Guineas winner, having won in 2011 with BIG MAN BOYU, making up for ANOTHER AFFAIR's loss to ABOVE AND BEYOND in Saturday's 1000 Guineas.

Both horses will renew rivalry in the 10-furlong St Leger on September 26, before October's Jamaica Derby at 12 furlongs, a reversal of the norm due to concerns over the horses' well-being coming off a four-month COVID-19 lay-up.

Racing continues at Caymamas Park on Saturday.
