Local rum maker Worthy Park Estate recently copped five awards at the Spirits Business Rum and Cachaca Masters 2020 competition.

The Rum and Cachaça Masters is an international spirits competition that aims to find and reward the finest rum and cachaça brands on the world stage.

The recent competition saw 113 entries from over 40 companies, with Worthy Park earning five medals, including three gold, a silver and a "Masters" medal.

Over the past 10 years, Worthy Park has amassed over 65 awards on the international scene from some of the world’s most trusted rum critics and purveyors.

Earlier this year, Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve was awarded Spirit of the Year from The Whisky Exchange, one of the UK’s premier spirit shops.

Worthy Park’s newest premium offering, the Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve has garnered much praise since its launch in 2018.

The Single Estate designation speaks to fact that Worthy Park grows sugar cane, produces sugar and molasses, ferments, distils, ages, blends and bottles all of their products at the estate – a rarity in the rum world, Worthy Park said in a press release.

It received Gold at the International Spirits Challenge, Best in Class Warsaw Spirits Festival, Best International Craft Cocktail and Silver for Aged up to eight years at German Rum Fest and  Best in Class.

Other Worthy Park products that been recognised include Rum-Bar Rum Cream, Rum-Bar White Overproof Rum, Rum-Bar Silver and Rum-Bar Gold Rum.
