A daylight murder of a woman on Mountain View Avenue in Kingston caused temporary traffic delays Wednesday afternoon as the police advised members of the public to avoid the troubled corridor in Kingston 3.

The scene was quickly processed and normal traffic flow has resumed in the area.

"There was a murder at about  3.30 pm. A woman was shot and killed. She was on Mountan View when she was attacked by persons on a motorcycle. She was shot and later died. The police have concluded the processing of the scene, and normal traffic flow has resumed in the area," a representative of the Corporate Communication Unit told Loop News reporter Claude Mills.

Mountain View Avenue has been under the gun in recent months following a flare up of gang violence between gangs from the Jacques Road and Goodwich Lane communities. Both gang were cronies but relations have gone sour after pieces of ply board went missing from a construction site in the area.

Police have maintained a heavy presence in the area which resulted in a temporary lull in the violence. However relations have been tense between the former allies.
