Woman arrested after baby found in locked car
A woman was apprehended and later taken into custody after her baby was reportedly found in a locked car that was parked on South Camp Road on Saturday.
Allegations that the woman had left the child in the vehicle to attend a party. Police say they have received similar reports but are still carrying out their investigations to gather more information on the case.
Reports are that at about 12 midday a team of officers were on patrol close to Sabina Park when they received a report that the child was left unsupervised in a vehicle.
Police said they made several checks to locate the parent or guardian but were unsuccessful.
Police sources told Loop News that officers had to break out one of the windows on the vehicle to remove the child who was taken to a medical facility to be checked.
The vehicle was later towed from the area.
Reports are that the mother was later located and taken into custody.
