Windies Women lose to Pakistan in ICC World Cup warm-up game

West Indies Women suffered a five-wicket defeat against Pakistan Women in their first official ICC warm-up game ahead of the ICC 
Women's World Cup in England and Wales.

Sent in to bat at Grace Road in Leicester, West Indies Women made 247 for seven off their allotted 50 overs.

Felicia Walters top scored for West Indies Women with 59 from 93 balls.

Merissa Aguilleira (43 from 50), Deandra Dottin (32 from 26) and opener Hayley Matthews (32 from 38) also got among the runs.

Veteran Jamaican allrounder Shanel Daley scored 24 not out from 12 balls and captain Stafanie Taylor got 14 from 34 balls.

Sana Mir was the best bowler for Pakistan Women with two for 46 from her 10 allotted overs,

Needing 247 to win, Pakistan Women replied with 249 for five to win with 14 balls to spare.

Bismah Maroof and Nain Abidi scored big half centuries for Pakistan Women.

Maroof hit 75 from 80 balls, while Abidi hammered 81 from 86 deliveries.

Shamilia Connell ended as the most successful bowler for West Indies Women with two for 39 from 10 overs, while Taylor picked up one for 29 from six.

It was the fourth straight defeat for West Indies Women.

The defeat follows on the heels of similar results against India Women, a strong England XI and a Southern Vipers side, leaving the Caribbean side perhaps short of confidence ahead the ICC Women's World Cup, which bowls off on Saturday.
