West Kingston cop's gun stolen, recovered in Spanish Town

A male cop was robbed of his firearm by criminals in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Monday.

Reports are that the police officer, assigned to the Kingston Western division, was seated in a public passenger vehicle, in the vicinity of Tastee in Spanish Town, when four men entered the bus and uttered to the cop, “bwoi a yuh we come fah”. 

The men reportedly then attacked the lawman and robbed him of his service pistol with a magazine containing 19 9mm cartridges. They made their escape along Burke Road and entered the Top Banks community.

A search was later conducted by a team officers in the Top Banks area, where the firearm was recovered and one man taken into custody.
