We Care to Share members bring Christmas joy to 80 homes

The We Care to Share Initiative, an outreach arm of the Franklin Town Church in Jamaica, shared the joy of Christmas on Saturday December 23, 2017, as they walked through the Franklin Town community to spread love and cheer to several community members.

Project coordinator, Jody-Ann Fearon, said “last December we were blessed with the opportunity of sharing love and joy through gift giving and gave to over 50 homes in the community. It was wonderful privilege to give back in such a meaningful way”.

This Christmas, We Care to Share Initiative brought Christmas cheer by providing gifts to 80 homes, primarily comprised of elderly and sickly individuals.

Children gifts were also distributed by the team of volunteers including members from the Franklin Town Church of God and the Franklin Town Police Youth Club.

Fearon said, “we were extremely delighted to see the smiles we brought to the persons who benefited, and we are excited about giving back once again this year”.

The We Care to Share Initiative operates from sponsorship and donations and expressed gratitude to Digicel, Jamaica Biscuit Company Limited, Sanmerna Paper Products Limited and the several individual donors who aided in cash and kind to ensure the event took place.

The Initiative, anchored by the principle of friendship evangelism, seeks to continue serving Franklin Town and neighbouring communities by meeting their social, educational and spiritual needs, as it aims to contribute toward the upliftment of community members and, by extension, community development.
