Patrons were not disappointed with the third staging of the 2019 Appleton Estate Signature Nights series last Thursday when Wayne Wonder took the stage delivering hit after hit at Peppa Thyme Jerk Centre in St Andrew.

The reggae stalwart, who spends much of his time on stages overseas, made sure the local audience got a performance for the books.

The event, which aims to treat patrons to live reggae music alongside one of the world’s foremost golden rums, stayed true to its promise, with audiences grooving to the artiste’s every melody, and responsibly enjoying Appleton Estate Signature cocktails throughout his set.

“It’s always a real vibe being able to sing for the people who pushed me and gave me my start. It is the Jamaican people who guided me, supported me, and gave me all the love over the years,” said Wayne Wonder after a sizzling performance.

The artiste looks forward to performing in Jamaica again in the near future and was pleased that Appleton Estate Signature Nights allowed him to connect with fans.

“I really enjoyed the night. It was amazing. I love how the crowd responded; the way they interacted with me, and sang along with me all the way,” he said.

Wayne Wonder set the venue ablaze with a long list of beloved records. Crowd favorites included ‘Saddest Day of My Life’, ‘Anything Goes’, and ‘Keep them Coming’. The biggest draw for the audience was the mega-hit ‘No Letting Go’ which had the venue echoing every word. The artiste also threw in a rendition of Agent Sasco’s ‘Ruffest and Tuffest’ for good measure, before calling deejay Frisco Kid on stage to treat the crowd to even more classics.

Marsha Lumley, Marketing Director, J Wray and Nephew Limited, was just as impressed as the hundreds of patrons who turned out at Peppa Thyme:  “We are beyond pleased with this year’s Appleton Estate Signature Nights so far. Wayne Wonder did a fantastic job and the fans expressed their joy. This is an opportunity for us to help our consumers truly enjoy Appleton Estate Signature Blend, the way it should be enjoyed, with friends and good vibes. And that is what patrons received at Peppa Thyme.”

Lumley expects that the final staging for 2019 Appleton Estate Signature Nights on Thursday, December 19 will be just as good if not better.  Slated for Sharkies Seafood Restaurant, in Runaway Bay, St Ann, the last staging will feature performances by Beenie Man, Agent Sasco, and Romain Virgo.

Admission to the venue will be $2,000 and patrons will get a free mason jar with the purchase of a cue at $1,300. Persons must be 18 years or older to enter and enjoy Appleton Estate Signature Blend.
