Waterhouse beat Harbour View to secure last RSPL semi-final spot

Waterhouse secured the final semi-final spot in the 2017-2018 Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) on Thursday by defeating Harbour View 2-1 in their second-leg quarter-final play-offs, at the Drewsland Mini Stadium.

The second-leg result means that Waterhouse have won the two-way tie 3-1 after they recorded a 1-0 victory on Monday night at the Harbour View Stadium.

Kemar Beckford secured the victory for Waterhouse by slotting home five minutes into time added on to break a 1-1 deadlock.

Waterhouse had taken the lead through Cardel Benbow in the second minute, but Marcelino Blackburn found the equaliser on the stroke of half-time.

Waterhouse will now face defending champions Arnett Gardens in one of the semi-finals.

Cavalier, which qualified for the play-offs by finishing sixth in the preliminary round, and Portmore United will contest the other semi-final.

Cavalier qualified on Wednesday following a 2-0 victory over Tivoli Gardens in their second-leg  quarter-final tie at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex.

Both teams had played out a 0-0 scoreline in their first-leg encounter at Stadium East on Sunday.

Portmore United and Arnett Gardens booked automatic spots into the semi-finals by virtue of finishing first and second following the preliminary round, which ended two weeks ago.
