People's National Party's caretaker for South East Clarendon, Patricia Duncan-Sutherland greets JLP supporters as she drives through a sea of 'Labourites' after the closing of polls on Monday.

Patricia Duncan-Sutherland was not daunted by the sea of green-clad Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters that stormed her SUV as she passed by the Vere Technical High School Monday evening.

Duncan-Sutherland, who is the People's National Party's caretaker for South East Clarendon, had passed the location earlier, but without much fanfare.

However, on her way back this time after the polls had closed and labourites had converged at the location for the counting, it was much different.

As the Labourites spotted her, they rushed the vehicle that she was in and surrounded it with vuvuzela and bells.

Duncan-Sutherland was however good with it. She laughed and greeted those within reach, enjoying the spotlight that was cast on her.

It took several minutes, with the assistance of the police, before she was able to proceed on her journey, as she continued entertaining the Labourites.

The South East Clarendon seat is being contested by Pearnel Charles Jr for the JLP and independent Derek Lambert.
