WATCH: Heavy rains cause flooding in Bull Bay, traffic diverted

Motorists brave heavy rains in the Bull Bay section of St Andrew on Friday morning.

Heavy rains have caused flooding along the Bull Bay main road in St Andrew as the island continues to be affected by unstable weather conditions on Friday.

Motorists using the major thoroughfare, which connects the parishes of St Andrew and St Thomas, have had to be diverted into Shooters Hill and other alternative routes. A Loop News team was in the area and captured the video below.

In the meantime, the Meteorological Service of Jamaica says the unstable weather condition is due to a persistent trough of low pressure across the western Caribbean.

The met office said light to moderate, and at times heavy showers and thunderstorms occurred across sections of most parishes during the night, especially across eastern and south-central parishes.

A flash flood watch is in effect for all parishes.
